Modern consumer units make use of automatic, resettable fuses. They measure current-flow on a magnetical basis to interrupt current after an overload or short circuit. An advantage of these fuses is the reset-function, a major disadvantage can be found in the negative influence it has on sound and vision quality.
All contacts in the Cylindric Fuse Cartridge have a durable silvercoating, in order to obtain the lowest resistance possible.
The fuses' body is made of a ceramic material, so the fuse melt wire itself is thermally stable. This has a positive effect on dynamic performance of you’re A/V set. Also your sound would be more at ease.
In the Netherlands, it is not obliged to have another fuse in the Neutral-wire, so we put a durable silver coated massive copper rod in the right cartridge slot.
 
The direction of the fuse is essential for obtaining the best sound quality. You can simply determine this by listening to both possibilities.
Installation of this module will cost only about ten minutes. We strongly advise you to have it installed by a professional electrician, as working on the mains and improperly carried out installations are potentially dangerous! Certainly, the fuses inside your audio-/video equipment are amongst the most underestimated components. These very cheap components have, in the first place, to carry all current that is withdrawn from the mains. Under most circumstances, much money was invested already in expensive to very expensive power cords. No further comments will be necessary to explain, that these crappy fuses will be a bottleneck in your system...
Relatively big enhancements can be obtained with little effort, when replacing the standard-fuses with fuses that were designed specifically for audio-/video systems.
Ordinary fuses consist of a glass tube, with on either end small steel caps with a layer of nickel over it. Both of these parts are in no way ideal: the ideal fuse for audio has to start with a ceramic body, in which should be mounted a silver wire. This wire is connected to end caps made from pure silver, that was covered with copper first, then gold plated.
To top things of, all fuses are then demagnetized and cryogen treated for even better conductivity, and less distortion and noise.
One would expect to have the biggest gain in performance with equipment, that draw heavy currents, for example a power amplifier. However, the results from our listening-sessions is, that even equipment with small power consumption (for example a phono-preamp) exhibits a remarkable gain in performance.
After this upgrade, you will notice a tighter low-end, that seems to go deeper, more detail, and an all together cleaner sound.

The manufacturer of DeoxIT, Caig laboratories, has been established more than 50 years ago, and is fully specialized in contact cleaning means. DeoxIT, the only contact cleaner that works on a chemical action and reaction basis, is finally available in the Netherlands at your local HiFi shop. Dirty, corroded or oxidized contacts will bring you blurred sound and vision.
When the years pass by, the contacts of you interlinks and equipment will become more and more dirty, parially because oxigen in the air and the sweat from your fingers will have a chemical reaction with the metal parts of your connectors. This so-called oxidation causes high and non-linear resistances. This resistance will be especially high for small signals, thus preventing the crisp reproduction of tiny details.
Use DeoxIT on all interlink-connectors, mains plugs, fuses, speaker cables, switches, relays and all other contacts to ensurethey are all fully clean. DeoxIT works, where other contact cleaners fail. The use of it is as simple as applying a small amount of DeoxIT, wait two minutes and wipe off the excess. Clean contacts will be the result.
