  • Audio Grade replacement for standard circuit breakers
  • durably silver plated contacts for best conductivity
  • ceramic fuse, enhanced thermal stability
  • fuse features durably silver plated contacts and is slow-blow (time lag, aM)
  • switch and fuse combined in one package, DIN-rail mount
  • capable of accommodating cables up to 10 mm2
  • sizes 36 X 81 mm (1.4 X 3.2 inch)
  • fuse size 10 X 38 mm (0.4 X 1.5 inch)
  • CE, IEC, EN, DIN and VDE certified
  • including one spare fuse

Modern consumer units make use of automatic, resettable fuses. They measure current-flow on a magnetical basis to interrupt current after an overload or short circuit. An advantage of these fuses is the reset-function, a major disadvantage can be found in the negative influence it has on sound and vision quality.

All contacts in the Cylindric Fuse Cartridge have a durable silvercoating, in order to obtain the lowest resistance possible. The fuse body is made of a ceramic material, so the fuse melt wire itself is thermally stable. This has a positive effect on dynamic performance of you’re A/V set. Also your sound would be more at ease.

In the Netherlands, it is not obliged to have another fuse in the Neutral-wire, so we put a durable silver coated massive copper rod in the right cartridge slot.

The orientation of the fuse is essential for obtaining the best sound quality. You can simply determine this by listening to both possibilities.

The differences in sound quality between the cylindric fuse cartridge and an automatic fuse, yes even between an old fashioned one way fuse, are huge. You will notice a more natural timbre, more warmth and dynamics, better placement of the insstruments used, and the resolution of your set will improve dramatically. The positive effects are not limited to audio only, even your TV set, LCD TV or plasma TV will have a sharper image, and colours will become deeper and richer.

We nearly every day receive the question, what the difference is between the Cylindric Fuse Cartridge and the AHP "klangmodul III". The differences are:

- The modules are exactly the same. Our CFC has silver plated contacts, the AHP has gold plated ones. There's no denying that silver is the better conductor, but has the drawback that is suffers from oxidation. Gold doesn't exhibit this problem. You can counteract this problem by cleaning the fuses with a silver polish. Regular cleaning is advised in order to keep the highest quality possible. By applying SilClear, the fuse will be maintenance free for the next years to come, on top of this you'll enhance the quality of the CFC still further.
- in the Neutral-slot we put in a massive silver plated bar, instead of the tube AHP puts in.
- spare fuse supplied in standard delivery
- costs less than half the money you'd spend on a AHP unit.

Above arguments already are enough of a statement of the sound quality differences we speak of.

Installation of this module will cost only about ten minutes. We strongly advise you to have it installed by a professional electrician, as working on the mains and improperly carried out installations are potentially dangerous! We can''t be held responsible for improperly carried out installations and the consequences of that under any circumstances!

PS apart from the standard silver plated fuseholder from Siemens, it is now available in a very durably silver plated version also. In concjunction with Siemens, this model is available exclusively at all KE-Dealers.
