Many of our customers asked us to develop a thinner, more flexible version of the succesful HI POWER CORD. We added a second goal to this request: to develop a very moderately priced power cord giving a significant improvement over nearly any standard power cord. These goals resulted in our LO POWER CORD. It is a high grade, thinner cable with a diameter of 9 mm that can be tucked away easily if needed.

Standard mains cables supplied with your audio/video devices cause two important problems. These unshielded cables emit a 50Hz hum with a very broadbanded interference spectrum. This interference has its influence on all other cables in your set! On the other hand, external interferences (RFI & EMI) will pollute the mains also. Every conventional, non-shielded power cord acts as an antenna, it will emit and receive all kinds of interference. The consequence is evident, your set won't be able to reach optimum performance level. For this reason, all our power cords are shielded.
After many years of extensive research and listening sessions we found the ideal construction and assembly for power cords intended for audio/video purposes. At the same moment a problem arose, no cable on the market met our stringent specifications. Only one solution was good enough: we had to design and produce our own cable. All specifications of our various cables were determined exactly, then verified after production. Specifications are set on basis of application and price and performance level. Ideal KE cables have become reality.
For all our cables plugs from the German manufacturer Bals are used.These are manufactured upon our specifications. We use Bals because of their excellent properties soundwise and mechanically. Even after years of intensive use, a perfect contact and good sound are guaranteed.
To reduce resonances, the mains plug has been filled with our special black sand and resin on critical spots. Due to the precious metals in our special black sand, even EMI and RFI are reduced. Besides this, the contacts in your power strip will be stabilized, this will further reduce distortion and enhances details. Even the enclosure of your power strip benefits from this. This unique procedure has been used for the IEC plug also. As an extra, this plug has been wrapped in metal foil in order to shield it completely.
Compared to nearly any standard (supplied) power cord our LO POWER CORD will immediately realise a richer low and middle region, more open and clean treble, more details, a more precise sound stage and a more dynamic sound.
All KE power cords should be connected to a grounded outlet to drain interferences to ground. Although very well shielded, even KE power cords should be kept away from your signal cables as far as possible.
For the best results obtainable we advise you to use KE power cords in conjunction with our POWER STRIP and/or POWER SOURCE. These combinations will perform far better than you would ever expect!
Just like with all audio cables, the LO POWER CORD has a burn in time of around one month.

The standard length of the LO POWER CORD is 1.5 m (5 feet) and is supplied with a Euro-connector (IEC 320/C22). Upon request other lengths and connectors are available. When the LO POWER CORD is too long, we recommend you to make a loop at the beginning of the cord.
The LO POWER CORD should be connected to an earthed power socket at all times to enable the direction of distortions toward the earth. Despite the good shielding of the LO POWER CORD, it should always be kept as far away as possible from other signal cables.
When you connect the POWER CORDS in combination with our POWER SOURCE or POWER STRIP to your audio-/video equipment, you will notice that it is an absolute must, and that they have similar influence on quality as any high quality interlink or loudspeaker cable! It results in a more powerful and sturdier low, a more open midrange, a less harsh higher tones and more widening and deepness of the overall staging.

In my system I’ve always had the Belden power cords which served me well. Then Ron Kemp persuaded me to try his on the basis of no cure, no pay. Ron did not claim too much: the sound instantly became less “electronic” and more musical.
