An electromagnetic field is present around any mains cable that has a current flowing through it. This will have negative consequences for your audio and video-reproduction. These negative consequences can be reduced by the use of a set of Wraps, consisting of a Metal and a Sand Wrap. This will result in more calmness, stability, depth and dynamics. Whether you use standard cables or the most precious power cords, there'll be a huge effect. It is beyond question one of the best tweaks for any audio/video set.

The Wraps come in pairs, the Metal wrap should be wrapped around the mains plug and the Sand Wrap should be wrapped around the middle of the power cord. The Metal Wrap contains numerous metals and a special sand. The Sand Wrap on the contrary is filled with a very special sand only. The effect of the Wraps is best noticed at the first power cord in the chain, but don't underestimate how much gain can be achieved by using Wraps around all your power cords. In the field of DIY sometimes copper sleeves are placed around mains plugs, this only has a minor effect compared the Metal Wraps. The effect of them can be checked easily by using a voltage-stick.

A response from a client, J. van Polen from Leiden (NL):

“In my main stereo system I have installed five Metal Wraps and five Sand Wraps. Only one Metal Wrap around the plug of the power cord feeding the complete system already resulted in an audible improvement! Adding Metal Wraps to the plugs of the main components, the improvement grew incremently. Dynamics clearly improved and musical instruments were placed more precisely in a somewhat bigger soundstage. Furthermore, the noise floor dropped and more detail could be heard. Listening to the award winning SACD “La Stravaganza” (Vivaldi / Rachel Podger), I noticed that the soloist just kept on playing all the time, where before she was drowned out by the orchestra occasionally. So more musical information was presented, but not at the cost of listening fatigue. Quite on the contrary, with the Metal Wrap in place, my SACD player combined more authority and control in the low frequencies with a generally more relaxed sound. Adding Sand Wraps around the middle of the power cords proved to be less effective than the placing of Metal Wraps around the plug. The Sand Wraps did a better job when placed on top of a component. Two Sand Wraps lying on my DAC resulted in a more refined reproduction of timbre of musical instruments, while just one Sand Wrap on top of my rather chunky preamplifier made the low end appear somewhat more precise. The Wraps are no doubt a welcome addition to the catalogue of high end audio accessories and should be tried by any serious music lover who wants to get the best out of his expensive power cords”

After the overwhelming success of our AC Wraps, introducing a smaller version was almost inevitable. These new Mini Wraps are specially designed for use with analog and digital interlinks and headphones cables. Like the AC Wraps, the Mini Wraps come in pairs, consisting of a Metal Wrap and a Sand Wrap.

Best results are achieved using a complete set for each channel. However, the effect of one set used for both channels can’t be missed either.

According to first impressions from members of our listening panel, the Mini Wraps more of less mimic the AC Wraps in their effects: better dynamics, more precision especially in the low end and a better retrieval of detail. Completely equipped with Mini Wraps, every high quality audio system will make a big step forward.

A response from a client who prefers to be anonymous:

"I am a proud owner of components of the premium series from Marantz. The CD player connects to the amplifier by a NordOst Blue Heaven interlink. The connectors of this interlink at the side of the CD player are equipped with Mini Wraps (unfortunately, at the amplifier side there is no space available for Wraps). Listening to Joni Mitchell’s masterpiece “Hejira”, I noticed an increase in “ambient information”: the particular atmosphere of each track was conveyed more convincingly. I presume this to be a result of the lowered noise floor. Also, the music seems to sound somewhat more relaxed and more potent in the lower frequencies. That the Wraps are effective on the side of the CD player, can be understood easily. CD players tend to emit electromagnetic radiation from all their openings and shielding the connectors means this radiation will not (at least less) go into the interlink. Simple and effectieve, I would say!"

Vibb Eaters are sacks of leather, filled with a special sand and grains of copper that should be placed upon loudspeakers. Ideally, the cones of your loudspeaker-drivers convert the music-signal into sound, and the walls of your loudspeaker-cabinets don't move. In real life, even with the most precious loudspeakers you can always feel the cabinets vibrate, this will affect reproduction. Adding a relatively heavy Vibb Eater will stabilize the cabinet and make it longer effectively. Vibrations of the cabinet will go on into the Vibb Eater, here they will be absorbed and transformed into a tiny amount of heat. This results in a sturdier low-end, more details in the higher frequencies and a more vivid sound with a better timing particularly.

Entreq

Vibb Eater also contain a small amount of precious metals, which contributes to the shielding and absorption of electromagnetic pollution. This makes the Vibb Eaters highly effective in combination with HiFi components. Experimenting with the exact spot to place them should be done by ear, under most circumstances you'll end up somewhere around the mains cable entry or the mains transformer. The original Vibb Eater is finished in a rats' snout design but for those who think this appearance isn't to their taste, there's the neutrally finished cone version also, simply named Con. Five sizes are available, the Ultra, Mini, Midi, Maxi and Jumbo with a weight of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6.5 kg a piece respectively.
Logically, heavier loudspeakers will require a heavier Vibb Eater, choice is best made by experimenting. Default colour is black, but for an additional price other colours are available. Even custom designs are considered possible.

“The loudspeakers of my main stereo system, CS2.3 from Thiel Audio, are widely recognized for their precise and uncolored sound. Amongst other things, this is achieved by the rather complex and elaborate construction of the cabinet. To think that a set of Vibb Eaters Maxi placed on top of the Thiels would result in a significant improvement of sound, would be very optimistic indeed. However, to my surprise, it really worked! The sound gained precision and purity over all musical frequencies! With the Vibb Eaters in place, music sounds more lively and effortless. One gets the impression the cabinets do not have to bear a load, but rather are freed of one. Pace and rythm improves and the last tiny amount of overhang disappears completely. More detail is retrieved, particularly in the high frequencies. For instance, listening to the Brandenburg Concerto no. 5 by J.S. Bach, sublte ornaments in the clavicord solo emerge that I had never heard before. Vocal music becomes more intelligible also. These rats may appear somewhat silly at first sight, but they may well constitute the most effective audio accessory I have come accross in several years. I think they are rather funny too and their luxurious appearance goes along well with my leather furniture. On the basis of neat finishing and clearly positive audible effects, I think the pricing is on the modest side. In short, Ratty the Vibb Eater is my new hero!”

Entreq stands for ENergy TRansforming EQuipment and thus, special feet voor HiFi equipment and loudspeakers are a must. These feet, just like the Vibb Eaters, contain a special black sand and copper grain mixture that has been composed empirically. This mixture not only eliminates mechanical vibrations, it will also eliminate EMI/RFI fields.

The vibrations originating from the foundation go through a sand-filled tunnel construction, where they are dispersed to the outer of the feet and will be transformed into heat. Vibrations from the air and from your equipment also will be dispersed to the outer of the feet, so these cannot interfere with vibrations coming from the foundation.

CatFeet
These have been designed for heavier objects like power amplifiers and loudspeakers. They will also work great under heavy mains filters like our POWER SOURCE and BALANCED ISOLATOR SOURCE.

LionFeet
These are wider (and less high) versions of the CatFeet and designed to be used with lighter front end equipment like cd/dvd players, DA converters, peramps etc. Key in this concept is the fact front end equipment is much more sensitive to vibrations from the inside as well as the outside, so they need a larger contact area with the feet.

FoxFeet
These are identical to the Cat/LionFeet and feature a thread as an extra so you can screw them onto your equipment or loudspeakers. This adds the benefit of a better coupling, so your equipment will be rock solid, and the feet cannot wander.

Our advise is to use three feet for every piece of equipment or loudspeaker to overcome the effects of an uneven foundation. You can find out the best spots for placement of the feet by just listening. Make sure, none of the three distances between the feet is equal, in order to prevent resonances.

Audible effects are a clean and powerful sound combined with a very natural timbre. This effect is especially large, much better than all of the many feet we tested previously.
